The DQ500 transmission is a 7-speed transverse mounted gearbox introduced by Volkswagen AG for larger and high torque output vehicles that is in large-scale series production.

The DQ500 (0BT) transmission is designed by Volkswagen AG based on the experiences afforded by the proven DQ200 and DQ250 transmissions. The DQ500 makes dual-clutch technology available for larger vehicles with high output engine configurations up to 600 Nm.

The DQ500 (0BT) DSG made its debut at Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles with the launch of the Transporter (T5) in 2009. Thereafter the DQ500 with identification 0BH is introduced in the 2011 model year Tiguan at Volkswagen Passenger Cars.

In addition the DQ500 (0DL) is used in sport models like the Audi RS3 / TT RS.
